Captain Cook's ships sailed from this port on his voyages of discovery. Now you can see the Whitby Lifeboat at its moorings. Nick Botham is often pulled away from his cake decorating to navigate the lifeboat. But local people understand that if their cake isn't ready, there will be a very good reason for it!
