Making A Purchase

To purchase from us you must be over 18.
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our on-line shop, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard, Switch and Solo. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.
We are not obliged to supply the goods to you until we have confirmed that your order has been accepted via email. (This will usually be when your order is shipped).
You do not own the goods until we receive payment in full in pounds sterling.


We aim to deliver goods to you within the time indicated by us in our acceptance but we cannot give an exact delivery date. Your 7 day cancellation rights under Distance Selling Regulations do not apply as the goods sold are perishable, however, if we have not delivered the goods within 30 days of the date given in our acceptance then you may cancel the contract and we will refund any money paid by you.
Certain food items may be prohibited in a country to which they may be sent. It is your responsibility to check with the appropriate authorities to ensure the goods ordered are not prohibited. Also, some countries may levy an import tax or duty, which is beyond our control, and will have to be paid by the recipient on delivery of the parcel.
You should inspect the goods when you receive them for damage. If you find any damage you must tell us as within 48 hours of receipt of the goods. On receipt of the returned goods we can elect to refund the purchase price or provide replacement goods at no cost to you.
If we elect to provide replacement goods we will be deemed to have complied with our obligations under the contract and no claim can arise out of your rejection of the original goods.

    Small Parcels under 700g are posted via Royal Mail First Class:

    All orders to Northern Ireland, Ireland and the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Isles of Scilly and Isle of Man are charged at 17.50 per parcel.

    International - DPD Classic

    Parcels up to 5kg can be posted to the following countries for a fixed charge:

  • Area 1 24.50: Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands.
  • Area 2 41.95: Austria, Denmark, Switzerland.
  • Area 3 47.99: Czech Republic, Italy, Slovakia, Spain.
  • Area 4 53.95: Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Sweden.
  • Area 5 88.75: Russian Federation.
  • International - DPD AIR Classic

    Fees charged per 0.5kg, per zone for 9 zones throughout the world. Please see the available selection for your basket weight.

    Delivery Schedule

    We will download your order during normal office hours (which may be the next working day for orders placed after lunchtime), and we will will aim to post it out as soon as possible depending on the required items and availability.

    For hampers, you are able to select a 'preferred' date for delivery. If you select this, we'll aim to have your parcel dispatched the day before this date, where possible, If fresh goods are ordered, we work around their availablity for you.

    DPD send emails and text messages to keep you informed on the status of your delivery, and will leave a card if the recipient is out.

    If you have ordered an iced celebration cake, please allow us plenty of time to make and decorate your cake. We also require 1 full day for the icing to set.

    Please note that although we will always endeavour to arrange to have your order delivered in time for your 'preferred date for delivery', we cant guarantee delivery for a specific date or time.

    International orders are generally received in under 28 days.

    <li>1st Class to UK destinations are usually delivered the next working day after collection.</li>

    Please note that parcels require a signature on receipt. If there is no-one at home, a card is left by the delivery company, and a second attempt will be made the next working day or left at the local Post Office for collection. Contact details are on the card should you wish to collect from the depot or Post Office.
    If a parcel is returned to us because there have been a number of failed attempted deliveries, we will offer to resend the parcel but there will be an additional charge for the postage and new packaging should it be required.
    Please note that it is not the fault or responsibility of E. Botham & Sons if the recipient is not in to receive the parcel.
    In some countries import tax and duties may have to be paid by the recipient on delivery.
    All delivery days are counted from day of collection - not from the date of your order.


    Back Orders

    Note that if we are unable to send the item of your choice, we reserve the right to send a similar item of the same or a greater cost.

    Tax Charges

    For orders made from the UK or the European Union, most of our food products are VAT Free. However some items may be subject to VAT @ 20% VAT and this is added to the total. All other orders are VAT free and you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero .

    Credit Card Security

    We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.


    We guarantee your satisfaction. If you are not entirely satisfied with any product purchased from us, we will replace it. We have worked hard to give the very best quality of product and service. Consequently, we have built up a large and loyal customer base who use Botham's services regularly. However, in the unlikely event that you are not entirely happy with our products or service, then please contact us as soon as possible for us to investigate. Our contact details are listed below.     Remittance Terms

    We ship your goods once we have received credit card authorisation. In the event that your card is refused, we will e-mail you and ask you to supply another card or to contact your bank to arrange clearance. Our terms do not affect your statutory rights
