You will need-
- Measuring Jug
- 1 Small Egg
- 250g ready-made puff pastry
- 100g (1 cup) grated cheddar or similar cheese
- Some flour to put on a worksurface
- A Pastry Brush
- A Rolling-pin
- An Adult
Get an adult.
set the oven to 220°C/425°F/Gas Mark 7
Grease a large baking tray with a little butter or margarine.
Beat the egg in a small jug or a mug with a fork.
Roll out the pastry on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 35x25cm, with one of the long sides towards you.
Brush the rectangle with the beaten egg, then sprinkle the grated cheese over half of it.
fold over the end without the cheese over the end with the cheese and roll it flat.
Brush the pastry cheese sandwich with more of the egg, then cut the sandwich into long strips about 1 cm wide.
you can now make the strips into lots of different shapes before placing them on the baking tray.
bake for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown. Take out of the oven and allow to cool.
