FAQs

Making a purchase online

Making a purchase couldn’t be easier. Just browse our on-line shop, click on the items you wish to buy and add them into the shopping basket. When you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout" link and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. To purchase hampers containing alcohol you must be over 18.

I need to order an iced cake:

If you need to order an iced Victoria, Chocolate or Fruit Cake: We need time to make & ice your cake, typically 5 working days, so do order in plenty of time! See our minimum dispatch days below as a guide for ordering:
(After 2pm, orders are processed the next day. Bank holiday days add a day to the above).
It may be possible for you to select a delivery date with less prep time allowed than shown above. If you do so, we will only be able to dispatch your cake when it is finished, as per the guidance above, which means your cake will arrive later than your selected date.

Processing your order:

We will download your order during normal office hours, usually after 2pm, and we will aim to post it out for your requested ideal delivery date, or as near as possible to it depending on the required items and availability
If perishable/short shelf-life goods are ordered, we work around their availability for you, for example - we will not post out parcels containing perishable/short shelf-life goods (eg bread, scones, pies), clotted cream or cheese on a Friday for delivery Monday, as they wouldn't keep, we'll post these for you on the next available posting day.

About delivery dates:

Please note that although we will always endeavor to arrange to have your order delivered in time for your 'preferred date for delivery', we can’t guarantee delivery for a specific date or time.
We will aim to post it out for your requested ideal delivery date, or as near as possible to it depending on the required items and availability
If fresh goods are ordered, we work around their availability for you, for example - we will not post out parcels containing fresh bakes (eg bread and scones), clotted cream or cheese on a Friday for delivery Monday, as they wouldn't keep, we would post these on the next posting day.

I want to post to Highlands, Islands or International:

We only offer Royal Mail 2-5 day delivery to the following postcode areas:
AB, FK, HS, IM, IV, KA, KW, PA, PH, ZE.

Posting to these locations takes time, 2-5 days usually. Although you may be able to choose a hamper or item that contains fresh bakes (bread, scones, pies), cheese or clotted cream to post to these locations, we don't think the recipient would enjoy these being days old, stale or off by the time they arrive... So with that in mind, we will substitute anything we think won't make the journey for something equally delicious and to the same value.

Nut or seed allergy advice
All our products are handmade in our craft bakery where nuts and seeds are used as an ingredient. Whilst we take every care, due to the nature of operations it is considered that all our bakery products are not suitable for customers with nut or seed allergies.

Whilst we do not use Peanuts as an ingredient in our bakery, we cannot control potential cross-contamination between peanuts and nuts or other ingredients at our suppliers premises, so we cannot say we are Peanut-free.

Gluten allergy advice
All our handmade bakery products are created in a single craft bakery where flour may be present in the environment. It is considered that all our bakery products are not suitable for coeliac customers or customers with a gluten intolerance.
