Batty Buns

Batty Buns

Bewitched Buns and Batty Buns are fun for Halloween - or any other time for that matter!

First - follow the recipe for the Bewitched Buns

Use a sharp knife to cut the tops off the other buns level with the paper cases. 2. Speread a little buttercream over the top of each bun. Then place a long blob of buttercream down the centre to make the bat's body.

3. Take one of the tops and cut into 2 halves. Then cut a little wedge from each half as shown. 4/ Press one corner of each cut half into either side of the buttercream body to make the bat's wings. Put the wedges at the bottom of the buttercream body as shown. Cut a chocolate drop into half for ears and press into the head. Repeat 3. and 4. for ech bun.

5. Put a tablespoon of cocoa powder into a sieve and sift over the buns so that the bats become dark brown. You could always try making your own designs - how about a spider's web pattern or colour some ready-to-roll icing with orange food colouring and make some pumkins.
