Brought to you by family designer, Anita Marshall, this year’s illustration depicts a magical interpretation of a Botham’s Nutcracker scene, featuring the historical Skinner Street Shop and former bakery, the iconic Christmas tree from the famous stage and whimsical 'Nutcracker' Botham's bakers! Inspired by a treasured childhood Nutcracker book, Anita invites you to explore this creative winter scene, the journey starts underneath the Christmas tree and you'll discover something new each time you look!

Dolls House, Bake House

Of the creative design process, Anita said "I wanted to capture the charm and incredible architecture of Skinner Street Shop frontage - an historical site - for a new design for our jute bag range. As I was bringing this 2D design to life, it started to look like a dolls house which I imagined had hinged doors and lots of hidden, enchanted details. As a child, I remember being captivated by the Nutcracker story, and as these two ideas merged in my mind, it snowballed from there!"

A Magical Make-Believe Bakery!

Anita continues, "I added whimsical details to the design, such as the 'Sugar Plum Baker' ballerina, wooden baking spoons sprinkling a little festive magic, and the Whitby Lemon Buns which vary in size...Extra large Whitby Lemon Buns? Isn't that everyone's dream! The chequerboard flooring is also a nod to contemporary Botham's: A celebration of our new shop and cafe, and not forgetting iconic places of interest in Whitby, such as the Whitby Whale Bones. Our family rocking horse 'Hector', who was a fun part of our childhood, features in the attic, and can now be spotted at Enterprise Offices!"
